Linda supervised two final year students (Chloe & with Dr. Helen Lynch, Phd, UCC) in their final year project to assist and design an appropriate playground that encompassed The NCCA curriculum, school children’s desires and allows the introduction of “risky play” so children learn to manage risk.
The Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) highly commended the project under the Ann Beckett Awards 2016. The project was entitled “Desire to Design”. The AOTI said the project was valuable & innovative and will certainly go on to inspire other schools to reflect on play provision and opportunities for children.
